Men fashion trends SS 2013

Fashion latest trends are something everyone wants to be informed about despite the gender, women or men. But to be honest men are less addicted to fashion compared to women. There are some tendencies proposed by designers, unwearable, very extravagant or feminine. The positive thing is that anybody can choose for himself what he really likes and feel comfortable. To look good it’s not just about following tendencies is to know how to wear and pair the colors, accessories and fabrics. 


This season there are some trends equal to women trends like stripes, metallic, printed etc. But the essential of menswear this season are shorts. It’s not a new thing but there are different models and colors to enjoy the warm weather.
From catwalks of Paris, London, Milan here are the top trends of Spring Summer 2013 for men:

Shorts

The key piece of runways was shorts, paired with blazers single or double breast or shorts suits. Different lengths, most seen up to the knee or above the knee. Materials vary from cotton, linen, denim, satin or leather in beige, pastel or fluorescent colors. Also printed and patterned shorts were very popular at Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, and Burberry Prorsum collections.

Stripes

Stripes are the top trend of this season for men and women. From horizontal, vertical to diagonal, black and white or colored you must have them into your wardrobe. Stripes were used in shorts, blazers or t-shirts by J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors etc. But there rules on how to wear stripes. For example if you have thin or athletic body type choose horizontal stripes that make you look wider and vice versa. Don’t pair stripes with checkered pattern is an ugly mistake. Better wear them with monochrome color.   

Metallic

A new trend this season is the use of metallic. Used in trench coats, collars or blouses, in different shades from green, orange, blue or fuchsia. Seems weird that men can wear a metallic blazer but if you want to follow this trend and not be ridiculous, just wear a metallic accessory like tie, collar, belt or bag. The designer that most used this trend was Burberry Prorsum but also Versace, Lanvin and Acne. Get a look at their collection and pick your favorite one.

Printed and pattern

Floral, geometric, abstract or animal prints are so in vogue for both women and men. It’s a casual and chic style at the same time. Floral prints are mostly feminine but they are used by Versace, Gucci and Bottega Veneta as bouquet or blooms. They express feelings, positivity and hope that go along with the warm weather. Even leopard or snakeskin was popular on catwalks, used in jackets, shorts, blouses or trousers.

Vibrant colors

Neon and fluorescent colors were a trend of last year but they are in vogue also this season. Shades of bright yellow, tangerine or icy blue were most popular in designer collections. Wear these shades for a weekend or night out because I think they are inappropriate for everyday activity. Get inspired by Topman Design, Hermes, Salvatore Ferragamo models and pick your favorite blouse, t-shirt, shoes or bags to rock this spring and summer. 

Suits

Every man has at least one suit into his wardrobe that can use for special occasions. But this season designers propose a retro style of 20’. A unique style with modern and retro elements with skinny trousers, high waist, double or single button fitted jacket but the top trend was shorts suit a new tendency of this season. What about colors? They vary from neutral colors, grey, beige, blue or navy to bright colors, pastel or neon. Suits are seen at Salvatore Ferragamo, Emporio Armani, Versace, Gucci etc.
